Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 2026
Epitome is a Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS) application developed by Doomkey. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with the software.
1. Our Privacy Philosophy
We believe your data belongs to you. Epitome is designed to function without any backend servers managed by Doomkey.
2. Information Collection
- Personal Information: We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information (such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers).
- Usage Data: We use simple privacy-friendly analytics tool (goatcounter). The type of data collected can be seen from here
- Device Permissions: If the app requests permissions (such as file storage), they are used strictly to enable local functionality on your device.
3. Data Storage
- Local Processing: All data created, entered, or imported into Epitome remains exclusively on your device.
- No Cloud Sync: There is no cloud synchronization or remote backup service provided by Doomkey. Your data never leaves your device unless you manually export or share it yourself.
4. Third-Party Services
Epitome does not contain third-party SDKs or advertising networks. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer any information to outside parties because we do not have access to it in the first place.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Because your data is stored locally:
- Deletion: You can delete your data at any time by using the data deletion feature in the app or by clearing the website data.
- Recovery: Doomkey cannot recover your data if it is deleted, as we never possessed a copy of it.
6. Transparency & Open Source
As an AGPLv3 licensed project, the source code for Epitome is public. You are encouraged to audit the code at our official repository to verify our privacy claims.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the application or its official source code repository.
Contact If you have questions about this policy, you can reach out via the official Epitome repository.
